Dear All, From the news we read as well as the reports coming from our co-workers half-way around the world in Thailand, Covid seems to be abating, however so slightly. The Thai government is announcing its plans to soon reopen at least five provinces, including Chiang Mai, to international tourists who have been vaccinated. Whether this will include a period of quarantine is still not clear. Mike can return anytime but not without the same two-week quarantine and additional travel medical insurance required by the Thai authorities. It has also been announced that our kids in Thailand, age 12 and up, will be allowed the take the Pfizer vaccine beginning in October. But our adult staff will need to wait until at least November. Other than a small outbreak of Covid at the border in one of our refugee learning centers, none of our staff nor our children have been infected with the virus. For this we are so thankful! Myanmar (Burma) still battles a large number of Covid cases and some deaths have occurred among the Christian community. Please pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Myanmar because of the virus but also because of the danger created by the now 8-month-old military coup. Since Mike's return last month from Thailand we have traveled to speak at supporting churches that could not be scheduled earlier due to the pandemic. We thank you, once again, for your partnership with us in ministry in Southeast Asia, both in prayer and financial support! May God bless you where you serve! Mike and Debbie
